Founded in 2000, Back Forty is a small sheep farm nestled in the heart of the Lanark Highlands where we make artisanal ewe milk cheeses of the highest quality using old world methods and 100% natural (unpasteurised) ewe's milk. In our petite fromagerie we produce six delectable raw ewe milk cheeses: Highland Blue, Dalhousie, Flower Station Feta, Madawaska, Bonnechere, and Snow Road. Our cheeses are made by hand in very small batches and then lovingly aged from two to nine months. We fervently believe our cheeses rival the best made anywhere in the world and hope you will agree.
