Grant and Dorothy started Connaught Nursery in 1982 with a 20' x 50' greenhouse, growing bedding plants.
They now have 15,000 square feet of greenhouses, a retail/gift shop and 12 display beds.

Bedding plants are still the main crop, but they now offer 300 varieties of perennials, 150 varieties of herbs, a wide selection of shrubs and trees, (including many native varieties, or varieties that are attractive to birds and wildlife), greenhouse vegetables starting in April (tomaotes, cucumbers, lettuce, spinach, strawberries, raspberries and peaches).
The greenhouse vegetables are all pesticide-free and picked fresh daily.

After the spring rush is over Grant and Dorothy move out to the garden where they have a one acre organic market garden.

Grant and Dorothy's personal philosophy has become their company philosophy:
- fresh, wholesome, locally grown, pesticide free produce
- advice on gardening that is gentle on the earth - organic or as close as possible
- a garden center environment that is informative, relaxing and country-friendly
- products and gifts that any gardener would love to receive

Grant and Dorothy enjoy producing a wide range of food and flower products and then selling them directly to people who care how their food is produced and how fresh and flavorful it is.
